Houston-based Chevron Corp. is under way at a development test in the company’s producing Blind Faith Field. The #6BF OCS G21182 is in the western portion of Mississippi Canyon Block 696, with a planned bottomhole to the west beneath Mississippi Canyon Block 695. Area water depth is 6,900 ft. According to IHS Markit, this is the first new drilling in Blind Faith field in more than 10 years. The company has, however, completed a handful of sidetracks and workovers in the area in recent years. Blind Faith field came online in 2008 and produces crude/condensate from Miocene at 20,938-25,096 ft.
