Drilling Activity Summary
Description
In Wheeler County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas, Forest Oil Corp. of Denver completed three new Anadarko Basin producers in the Stiles Ranch Field area. The #2010H Frye Ranch is in Section 11, Block A-3, H&GN Survey, A-200, and initially flowed 24.1 million cu. ft. of gas, 2,534 bbl. of 58-gravity condensate and 2,280 bbl. of water per day from a horizontal Des Moines Granite Wash section at 11,775-16,041 ft. following nine-stage acid treatments and fracture-stimulation. The shut-in and flowing casing pressures were 2,913 psi and 2,441 psi, respectively, but choke size was not reported. The 16,125-ft. well was drilled to a bottomhole location in Section 10, A-8261, and the true vertical depth is 11,234 ft. The #4012H Frye Ranch is in Section 29, Block A-3, H&GN Survey, A-209. It was tested in a fractured and acidized Des Moines lateral at 12,730-16,399 ft. that bottomed in Section 12, A-8216. The well flowed at an initial rate of 7.79 million cu. ft. of gas, 1,394 bbl. of 58-gravity condensate and 1,613 bbl. of water daily from Section 29, Block A-3, H&GN Survey, A-209. It was tested in a fractured and acidized Des Moines lateral at 12,730-16,399 ft. Drilled to 16,896 ft., 12,128 ft. true vertical, it bottomed in Section 12, A-8216. A south offset, #3029H Frye Ranch, is in Section 12, Block A-3, H&GN Survey, A-432. The offset was drilled northward to a bottomhole location in Section 29, A-209, and initially flowed 10.7 million cu. ft. of gas, 1,140 bbl. of 59-gravity condensate and 1,122 bbl. of water per day through Granite Wash perforations between 12,516 ft. and 16,898 ft. after acid treatment and a multistage fracturing.
