Diversified Energy Co. Plc on Oct. 19 named Teresa Odom as vice president of ESG and sustainability, a dedicated position that Diversified created to expand its ESG capabilities, the company said in a release.
Concurrently with the promotion of Odom, who previously led both Diversified’s investor relations and ESG efforts, Diversified said that James (Jim) Sheehan will be joining the company to serve as vice president of investor relations.
According to the release, Sheehan brings nearly 15 years of experience as a sell-side equity research analyst covering the chemicals sector, which CEO Rusty Hutson Jr. said will serve Diversified well as it seeks to broaden the company’s story and business model to the investment community.
“His knowledge of ESG and the important role it plays in industries like ours will also be a valuable resource to Teresa and our operations teams as we strive to continually and transparently share our stewardship message with all stakeholders,” Hutson commented in the release.
Headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., and listed on the London Stock Exchange, Diversified’s business model focuses exclusively on buying PDP natural gas assets, which, until an acquisition in May of assets located in a new central regional focus area, had all primarily focused in the Appalachian Basin.
Most recently, Diversified agreed to a cash acquisition of Oklahoma City-based Tapstone Energy, which will add operated wells located in Oklahoma within the broader Midcontinent producing area of the company’s central region.
Diversified Energy on Oct. 19 also announced plans to hold a capital markets day next month that emphasizes the company’s ESG achievements and initiatives.
Scheduled for Nov. 17 in Houston, Diversified’s capital markets day will feature recent environmental achievements and new ESG initiatives, including safety enhancements, asset integrity and replacement, emission reductions, production optimization and financial stability, as well as its “industry-leading performance in retiring mature assets,” the company release said.
Diversified will also host participating analysts and investors on a tour of select central region assets during the event to showcase examples of its smarter asset management and ESG operating initiatives.
