The 3,300-ft. well is in Section 12-12s-7e, northeastern Geary County. Nearest oil recovery is nearly three miles east-northeast. Drilled in 1970, #1 Poole pump tested for four bbl. of oil and 166 bbl. of water per day; no subsequent production was reported. One-well Aye Field is 0.75-mile farther northeast. Now abandoned, this discovery was plugged after producing 4,550 bbl. of crude between 1965 and 1971. The company has active wells about four miles northeast of its new location in Gerril Field. Discovered in 1984, this field has yielded 60,400 bbl. of oil with a 27 bbl. per day average for the month of February 2008.
3 An eastern Arkoma Basin discovery has been reported by XTO Energy Inc., Fort Worth, Texas. According to the operator, #1-16H Benny had an initial flow of 4.03 million cu. ft. of gas per day. It is in a previously undrilled township six miles southeast of Pleasant Plains, Ark., in western Jackson County, Section 16-10n-5w.
4 Chesapeake Operating Inc., Oklahoma City, will evaluate Pennsylvanian Orr and Hale sands with its #1-27 Webco 6-11 in a nonproducing region of eastern Faulkner County, approximately 2.5 miles north-northeast of Vilonia, Ark. The wildcat is in Section 27-6n-11w and is projected to reach a target depth of 7,500 ft. The only other test drilled to date in the eastern Arkoma Basin township was abandoned 44 years ago. The #1 Atkinson is a mile west-northwest of the current site and neither show nor test was reported for this well. The Hale discovery, completed earlier this year, is about seven miles northeast. There, #1-34 Walker was tested flowing 493, 000 cu. ft. of gas per day. The Fayetteville shale interval yielded 9 million cu. ft. of gas during six months online.
5 A horizontal producer was completed in northwestern Oklahoma’s Cleveland play. Oklahoma City-based Crusader Energy Group LLC’s #3H-27 Raiders was tested with an initial flow of 367 bbl. of 47-gravity oil, 1.06 million cu. ft. of gas and three bbl. of water per day. The well is in Section 34-20n-23w, about eight miles east-northeast of the town of Arnett in Ellis County. Flow was measured through a 15/64-in. choke with a tubing pressure of 1,400 psi. The well offsets to the southwest the company’s #1H-34 Dolphins in the Arnett Field area, which was completed last fall as an 11,846-ft. horizontal Cleveland producer. Completion details have not been released. The company also completed its?#2-27H Raiders about 0.5-mile north in mid-2006. That well initially flowed 318 bbl. of oil, 2.47 million cu. ft. of gas and 36 bbl. of water daily. It produced?41,507 bbl. of oil and 575.1 million cu. ft. of gas?between July 2006 and January 2008.
6 Canaan Resources LLC, Oklahoma City, completed four new horizontal coalbed-methane producers in Oklahoma’s Pittsburg County. One well, #1H-16 Dian, had an initial flow of 1 million cu. ft. per day of gas and 48 bbl. of water. The well is in Section 16-7n-13e, about 12 miles northwest of McAlester, Okla. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 17 psi on a 1-in. choke. The company completed the three other Hartshorne producers about 2.5 to 3.5 miles northeast. The #3H-1 Joel flowed 819,000 cu. ft. of gas with 432 bbl. of water per day. The #1H-12 Cox flowed at an initial rate of 656,000 cu. ft. per day with 480 bbl. of water. Elsewhere in the vicinity, #1H-11 Emma had an initial flowing potential of 555,000 cu. ft. of gas and 480 bbl. of water per day. About 1,400 horizontal Hartshorne producers have been completed to date, but only 28 others have had initial daily flowing potential of 1 million cu. ft. of gas or more.
7 Two Siluro-Devonian gas producers were completed by Artesia, N.M.-based Yates Petroleum Corp. 12 miles east-northeast of the town of Roswell in Chaves County. The #1 Roomba BKM is in Section 17-10s-26e. It was tested flowing 4.2 million cu. ft. of gas per day. Flowing tubing pressure was 1,225 psi on a 24/64-in. choke. The #1 Oreck BDO Com is less than a mile southeast. This well flowed 2.9 million cu. ft. of gas per day with a flowing tubing pressure of 840 psi on a 24/64-in. choke.

Discovered in the mid-1950s, Wilton Field has recovered 1.15 million bbl. of oil and 131.9 million cu. ft. of casinghead gas from Strawn. Currently, the only Strawn producer in the field is in Jack County to the east.
11 Abilene, Texas-based Paragon Corp. is waiting on completion tools at its #1 McGuire, about three miles east-southeast of the town of Haskell, Texas. The well was drilled in the Neil O. Campbell Survey, A-92, Haskell County (RRC Dist. 7B). The nearest recovery is 1.25 miles south in KOB Field. There, #1 Strain was completed in 1994 and yielded 3,752 bbl. of crude and 3,000 cu. ft. of casinghead gas during two years online. Two-well Borders Field is about two miles west of the current venture. That field yielded a total of 40,900 bbl. of oil, 7.37 million cu. ft. of casinghead gas and 341,182 bbl. of water since 1993.
12 Midland, Texas, independent Fasken Oil & Ranch Ltd. has scheduled a Midland Basin wildcat about eight miles northeast of Lamesa, Texas, in northeastern Dawson County (RRC Dist. 8A). The #1 McAuley is in Section 18, Block 34, T6N, CCSD&RGNG RR Co. Survey, A-687. The 9,000-ft. test will target Spraberry. Adcock South Field is 1.75 miles east-southeast. Opened in 1981, this one-well field yielded 306 bbl. of oil and 2,000 cu. ft. of casinghead gas during two months onstream. Spraberry production comes from Arvanna North Field more than two miles west-southwest. Since 1991, three wells have yielded 95,609 bbl. of crude, 90 million cu. ft. of casinghead gas and 218,579 bbl. of water.
