SM Energy Co. appointed Barton R. Brookman as independent director, member of the audit committee and member of the ESG committee of the board of directors, according to a Feb. 21 press release.
Brookman previously served as president and CEO of PDC Energy, which was acquired by Chevron in August 2023, where he originally joined in July 2005 as senior vice president of E&P. Prior to PDC, he held operational and technical positions at Patina Oil & Gas and its predecessor Snyder Oil, the release stated.
SM Energy also promoted James B. Lebeck to executive vice president and general counsel. Lebeck served as senior vice president and general counsel since January 2023.
