TGS, a global provider of energy data and intelligence, said on May 10 it has commenced acquisition on Santos multiclient 3D Phase 4 survey offshore Brazil.
The survey is located in the western portion of the Santos Basin and works as a northwest extension of the existing TGS Santos 3D, covering approximately 5,000 sq km. This modern, high-quality data coverage will further enhance geological understanding of the area and enable E&P companies to maximize the potential for deepwater discoveries in one of the world’s most prolific exploration basins.
This multiclient 3D survey is one of the latest of several 3D and 2D surveys completed in Brazil. TGS currently holds over 447,500 km in 2D multiclient data and 69,500 sq km in 3D multiclient data in Brazil.
“We’re pleased to commence Phase 4 of this survey—further strengthening our data library and position in the Brazil Salt Basins. This data will contribute to our client’s efforts to further de-risk their investments in future bid rounds and partnership opportunities,” David Hajovsky, executive vice president of Western Hemisphere at TGS, said.
Full volume fast track data will be available in March 2022 with final data expected in October 2022.
