ConocoPhillips has retained Jefferies & Co. Inc. to sell certain assets in the Eagle Ford shale and Austin chalk.

The Eagle Ford/Austin chalk package includes 100% working interest (average 80% net revenue interest) in 90,962 net acres in Austin, Colorado, Fayette, Lavaca and Washington counties in Texas. The acreage prospective for Eagle Ford is on trend with successes by EOG Resources Inc. and Petrohawk Energy Corp. with oil or gas condensate. The Austin chalk portion is analogous to Giddings Field with four play types identified. The majority of leases have the option to extend.

The bid due date for this package is June 7. The effective date is July 1. Closing is expected by July 12.
